South fork tines | Yuletide Celebration and Winterfest Bring the Holiday Season to South Fork

SOUTH FORK – The South Fork Friends Foundation, in partnership with the City of South Fork and the South Fork Visitor Center, will host its annual Yuletide and Winterfest celebration on Friday, November 25 and Saturday, November 26.

The Yuletide celebration takes place from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, November 25 and is billed as fun for the whole family. This is the annual Christmas tree lighting at the Visitor Center and historic water tower along Highway 160. According to South Fork Friends Foundation Director Luke Brennan, there will have food and music starting at 5 p.m. at the South Fork Visitor Center.

The event is free for all. The tree lighting will take place just after dark, around 6 p.m. Santa and one of his elves will arrive right after the tree is lit, with gifts for kids who want to see him and share their wish lists.

“We have rented a large circus-style tent for warmth and shelter and we will have free food (chili and homemade mac and cheese), snacks, hot chocolate, coffee and treats for all. Holiday music will be played through a new sound system that we just purchased. Weather permitting, there will also be a bonfire to warm up and light up the night,” Brennan said.

The annual Winterfest craft fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 26 at the Rio Grande Club and Resort. The South Fork Friends Foundation is expecting 22 vendors from across Colorado this year to occupy 25 spaces in this beautiful facility.

Vendors will have a diverse mix of offerings: handmade furniture, pottery, jewelry, antler artwork, wooden toys, wooden bowls and cutting boards, spices, lotions, baked goods , clothes and much more.

The Rio Grande Club will be offering a special, limited menu to sellers and shoppers throughout the day.
