Restaurant Road Trip: Loveberry Bakery

WESTON, W.Va. (WBOY) — This week’s stop on the Restaurant Road Trip takes us to Lewis County to check out a new bakery that lives up to its name.

The mother and daughter team who own and operate the Loveberry Bake Shop in Weston seem to have figured out what it takes to bring the dough home for the family.
And for Brenda Breasette and her two daughters, this little bakery is a place where they can all laugh, smile and treat customers to delicious homemade pastries.

“You know, our personalities go well together,” his daughter Jessica Richards said. “We have a lot of laughs.”

Jessica and her sister work alongside their mother, who says she started cooking many years ago simply because she loved it.

“I don’t know, I always did,” Brenda said. “I started cooking for my kids and at home, and it only grew.”

The list of things Brenda cooks up is long. From cakes and cookies to bagels and pepperoni rolls, Brenda makes sure to put some love into it.

“Everything is homemade,” Brenda said. “Everything is from scratch. I don’t believe in club stuff.

She says the most popular items valued by customers are almost unanimous. “The most popular are sticky buns and cinnamon rolls,” she said.

Even the name, started with a family contribution. “Oh, the name Loveberry,” Jessica said. “So we gave my grandma and my cousin a few different name ideas and they liked Loveberry Bake Shop, so that’s what we ended up choosing.”

In addition to sweet treats, Loveberry Bake Shop has expanded its menu to feature a popular breakfast dish and weekly soup specials.

“Yeah, we started making cookies and gravy every morning,” Brenda said. “And we make different soups. Every week we have a different soup. We use it all week. »

The Loveberry Bake Shop is open Tuesday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday from 6:00 a.m. to noon. It is located at 250 W. 2nd St. in Weston.
