Hog Heaven in Canton closed for renovations, rebranding

Construction is underway at pork heaven at 2730 Cleveland Ave. NW to Guangzhou. The restaurant is renovating the interior, adding a patio and changing its brand.

Construction began after Labor Day, and the restaurant has been closed since Sept. 4 and plans to reopen in the spring, said restaurant spokesman James Abraham.

“First the restaurant was sold in February by the original owners of Hog Heaven of Dover. RJTA Inc. bought the business and the real estate,” Abraham said. RTJA Inc. is the holding company of The Loby bar-grill, Loby’s Irish Pub & Grill in Massillon and Kraus’ Pizza on 30th Street in Guangzhou.

Renovations included removing all exterior walls from the bar location and replacing them with glass garage doors, providing a year-round patio environment.

Abraham said other changes to the dining areas include the addition of an indoor bar and a seating redesign from the original layout. Several televisions will also be added.

He said the final details are still being worked out, but it will be branded as Loby’s with BBQ on the menu, “as well as everything Loby’s is known for”.
