Tarrytown, New York, June 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — via NewMediaWire — Nightfood Holdings, Inc. (NGTF), The sleep-friendly snacks company, which tackles the $50 billion that Americans spend each year on nighttime snacks, today announced plans to launch Nightfood sleep-friendly cookies in July.

Nightfood’s “Prime-Time Chocolate Chip” is expected to be the first variety made now that recipes and production testing have been finalized for this flavor. Cherry Oatmeal and Snickerdoodle flavors are also nearing completion and are expected to be produced in July or August.

Nightfood’s sleep-friendly ice cream launched last month at hundreds of hotels in more than 40 states across the country. Significant distribution gains in thousands of additional hotel properties are expected for Nightfood Ice Cream in the coming months. Management believes that adding additional snack formats, such as cookies, to hotel distribution will result in more consumer trials and increased revenue per property.

A global hotel company has already confirmed plans to test Nightfood cookies in hotels. Management also expects to be able to leverage data on hotel ice cream pint sales to help roll out cookies at other chains.

Additionally, management believes there are significant distribution opportunities for Nightfood Sleep-Friendly Biscuits as a dessert on international overnight flights. Talks are currently underway with a major airline catering company that serves many of the world’s largest international carriers.

“With the rollout of our national ice cream hotel now underway, we believe it’s time to take advantage of expansion into additional formats,” remarked Sean Folkson, CEO of Nightfood. “Like our ice cream, there is no sacrifice in taste or texture for consumers making a better nighttime snack choice. These are delicious cookies, which have been specially formulated to be both healthier and more sleep-friendly. This makes it a natural choice for hotels. And now, even hotels that do not have ice cream freezers will be able to provide their guests with Nightfood snacks.

Nightfood cookies are gluten and nut free. An oatmeal base was chosen because oats are naturally rich in melatonin. Date syrup was selected as a sweetener due to its higher antioxidant content and lower glycemic index, as well as other reported health benefits.

Compared to leading cookie brands, each serving of Nightfood Prime-Time Chocolate Chip Cookies contains approximately 40% less sugar, 40% less fat, 20% fewer calories, 200% more protein and 500% more fiber. Each serving will also provide 500 mcg of vitamin B6, 500 mg of inositol and 250 mg of jujube powder, along with other selected nutrients and ingredients to provide a more sleep-friendly nutritional profile for anyone who snacks at night.

About Nightfood

Nightfood is a pioneer in the sleep-friendly nighttime snack category.

More than 80% of Americans regularly snack at night, resulting in approximately 700 million nighttime snacking occasions per week and annual nighttime snacking spending of more than $50 billion. The most popular choices are ice cream, cookies, chips, and candies. Recent research confirms that these snacks, in addition to being generally unhealthy, can impair sleep, in part due to the excess fat and sugar consumed before bedtime.

Nightfood’s sleep-friendly snacks are formulated by sleep and nutrition experts to contain fewer sleep-disrupting ingredients, with a focus on ingredients and nutrients that research shows can support nighttime relaxation and better quality of sleep.

The brand is currently focused on establishing a broad national distribution of its sleep-friendly snacks in the high-margin hospitality industry. Leveraging a relationship with a global hospitality company, Nightfood began expanding to hotels across the United States in May 2022. Management believes hotels have an obligation to help guests sleep better , and one of the ways to do this is to offer snacks. their take-out lobby shops.

With approximately 56,000 hotels across the United States, national distribution is expected to drive profitability, consumer adoption of the late-night snack category, and a strategically defensible position from which category leadership can be maintained.
