National Curry Awards: Teesside Restaurant Named “Most Outstanding Restaurant of the Year”

A restaurant in Teesside received the “Most Outstanding Restaurant of the Year” award at a prestigious ceremony.

Vadah, located by the river in Stockton, won the honor at the 2021 National Curry Awards in London on Wednesday.

The ceremony, attended by politicians and business owners, was held in the House of Lords, Palace of Westminster.

Those who attended the event included MP Sir Alan Campbell, MP Mary Robinson and MP Sarah Atherton.

The Indian restaurant called its victory “surreal”.

Vadah posted on Facebook: “We feel so honored and privileged to even have been nominated for this prestigious award for the second time, but to have won again is just surreal.

“It was an amazing evening with fantastic people such as Wrexham MP Sarah Atherton and Newcastle MP Nick Brown.

“We are proud to have received such recognition for our efforts and would like to thank our amazing community for their continued support.”

The National Curry Awards (NCA) were launched to promote the Asian restaurant industry and showcase its creative and talented chefs.

It also aims to further encourage new generations to get excited about and get involved in the industry.

Nominations for the awards ceremony come from across the UK.
