Mediterranean Panini from Circle @ Crown Café – Jewish Light of Saint-Louis

Alec Baris, partner in digital engagement

St. Louis is home to some fantastic places that offer incredible entertainment and dining experiences. As an STL native whose two loves are Cardinal baseball and food, I experience a new one every week and share my thoughts. If you have any dish suggestions you shouldn’t miss, feel free to email me at [email protected].

While searching for the best and most affordable meals in St. Louis, I came across a hidden gem in Crown Center for Seniors’ Lives‘s [email protected] Coffee.

Located on Delcrest Drive, just east of I-170, the cafe offers certified Kosher dairy, affordable and delicious meals for a quick breakfast or lunch, take out or take out. There is even an inviting outdoor patio where diners can enjoy the good weather with their meal.

And while the menu may be limited compared to larger, more established restaurants, [email protected] specializes in some fantastic sandwiches, such as the Mediterranean panini.

Panini is a comfort food sandwich, and this one is beautifully mixed with dill Havarti cheese, homemade olive tapenade, and hummus on toasted ciabatta bread. The grilled cheese was gooey and flavorful, which paired well with the hummus and tapenade. I was surprised how tasty and filling this sandwich was, even without the meat. The sandwich is truly gourmet quality, for only $ 9.

If that sandwich doesn’t appeal to you, the cafe has a variety of other options as well, including a high quality tuna sandwich on toast, a wide range of salads. Before 10:30 a.m., you can also purchase breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, omelets, and an English muffin sandwich.

Along with other assorted snacks including oversized chocolate chip cookies and a variety of hot and cold drinks, [email protected] Coffee offers a quick and quality meal at a reduced price. Not only that, but additional donations to Crown Center with your order will help support its Kosher Meal Program for Seniors in Need.

[email protected] Cafe is a program of the Crown Center for Senior Living, a community-based non-profit organization. The café is open Monday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
