Festival Foods will open its Greenfield store on Friday July 16, 2021

On Friday July 16, there will be a new place to shop for groceries in Greenfield.

Festival Foods, 4777 S. 27th St., will open at 6 a.m. that day.

The location, which once housed a target, will feature Caribou Coffee along with a range of freshly prepared produce and a seating area where shoppers can enjoy a meal or snack like Asian stir-fries, Hissho sushi, and pop. gourmet corn, according to a statement from De Pere-based Skogen’s Festival Foods.

The store will offer other traditional Festival Foods features, including a scratch-off bakery, a wide selection of cold cuts, meats and seafood, a hot food bar, organic food and a variety of take-out options.

In February, Greenfield Mayor Michael Neitzke said the Festival’s investment in Greenfield is a testament to the community’s commercial dynamism and said the city was delighted to welcome it as a major anchor on the 27th. and Layton.

“Coupled with the proposed redevelopment north of Layton to east of Loomis and the long-awaited reconstruction of Layton from Loomis to 27th Street starting this year, the Festival is a major part of the rebirth of the east side of Greenfield, ”said Neitzke. “This is exciting stuff.”

This is the Festival’s third store in the Milwaukee area and the 35th in Wisconsin.

Festival Foods opened a store in West Allis on May 21.

Both openings come less than two years after opening a location in Hales Corners in 2019.

Founded in 1946 as Skogen’s IGA, Festival Foods is a family-owned and employee-owned grocer in Wisconsin. The company, which began operating as Festival Foods in 1990, employs more than 7,500 full and part-time workers.

Approximately 250 workers will be employed at the Greenfield store, which will provide catering, online shopping and in-store pickup services.
